Low Bowl Geometric Crystal Centerpiece c.1900, Antique American Brilliant Cut Glass

A beautiful antique American Brilliant Period cut glass low bowl, featuring exceptionally detailed cutting with fine crosshatching, geometric panels, and graceful sweeping curves.

This is a piece I find especially interesting because of its unetched collar. That clear, undecorated band provides a striking contrast to the elaborate cutting surrounding it and gives the bowl a distinctive look that I don’t often see. To me, that unexpected simplicity makes the piece feel particularly unique.

I also love the bowl’s low, wide shape. The intricate cutting catches the light beautifully, while the open collar gives the eye a place to rest and makes the detailed pattern stand out even more. It has wonderful sparkle without feeling overly ornate.

At 8 inches across and nearly 3 pounds, it has a substantial feel despite its relatively compact size. I think it would be very pretty displayed on its own, used as a centerpiece or serving bowl, or styled with decorative objects on a dining table, console, or entryway table.

The maker and exact pattern remain unidentified, so I prefer not to make an attribution without enough evidence.
